• Artist Statement

  I am a new artist, working in photography and limited oils. My main focus is to capture, with a creative eye, the often fleeting beauty of nature. I am attempting to bring into focus with varying perspectives the unique patterns found in the moving clouds, setting sun, the interactions of small animals and insects with their surroundings, etc. My intent is to capture and frame the brief and fleeting moments of awe-inspiring formations within nature before they escape into the oblivion that is “change”.
  The subjects in my artwork are mainly presented as photographs from several different angles as I try to capture patterns and forms as uniquely as I can. Some of my photography also serves as models for works in oils and acrylics.
  It is important to me to have an eye for unusual framing and perspectives in order to capture creative and inspiring stills. Impromptu, photographs have often yielded surprisingly beautiful work.
  My philosophy is that art is in not only the eye of the beholder, but in the soul as well.
