About me
Nicholas Montrell Reed is the proud author of his book of poetry titled “My Voice Must Be Heard”. Nicholas Montrell Reed was born and raised in Shreveport, Louisiana to Brenda Faye Reed and raised by his grandparents Amos and Dorothy Winbush. Nicholas as a child was always intrigued by art from his early stages in life he was heavily influenced by music, he would find objects and create sounds from those objects. As Nicholas grew older he developed a passion and skill for writing. In his adolescent stages he would write poems in his composition notebook. This development of writing came from his love music, his influences of the late great Tupac Amaru Shakur and many others who impacted the world with their creative artistic gifts.
In 2010 Nicholas Reed graduated from Green Oaks Performing Arts Magnet High School in Shreveport, Louisiana. He would then take his artistic skill to the collegiate level by attending Wiley College in Marshall, Texas where he met his friend and mentor Donald W. Burton. Donald W. Burton was Nicholas’s first year experience professor and he saw potential in Nicholas. Donald Burton was impress with Nicholas’s writing, after their class sessions Nicholas would go to visit Donald Burton in his office and show him his poetry and they would converse on a wide range of topics such as religion, art, and poetry.
This relationship manifested the birth of Nicholas Reeds book “My Voice Must Be Heard”. Shortly after the publishing of his book Nicholas Reed became a renowned name at Wiley College for his performance artistry.
