Michelle comes from an artistic family, but chose a career in medicine. She has been a hand surgeon in Shreveport for 20 years, but never pursued art until she built her medical office in 2007. She realized that she needed a lot of artwork to decorate the walls, and began painting. She obtained her degree in math and philosophy, so she is drawn to abstract art and geometric shapes. She has used spray paint, acrylics, and most recently started acrylic pouring. In the last year and a half she also took up pottery. Painting and pottery in her spare time has allowed her to destress from her busy life.
