About Artist

Basic Information

  • Artist Statement

Over the last several years, I have grown as an artist exponentially. I began my journey when I decided to paint our first born – Atticus, a weimaraner, and have been painting “man’s best friend” ever since. Through my pet portrait commissions, I have pushed myself to establish a style for my work. My work balances detailed images with an organic background.

My most recent series of paintings focuses on objects and images that define me. All of these works have familial significance, some from the past and some from the present. For me, they are haunting reminders of what made me who I am and who my children will be as they grow into adults – rooted in what defines them, family.

In my next series of paintings, I will continue to explore abstraction using topographical maps as inspiration. I will create large paintiings using maps of significant places in my life using a variety of media; acrylic paint, oil pastel, watercolor crayon, pencil, charcoal and gold leaf.
