I have loved to draw as long as I can remember. As a child I had Attention Deficit Disorder and I used drawing to focus my energy, to focus on what was going on around me more clearly. This helped me to understand the lessons (no fidgeting and distractions would not catch my attention as easily). This helped me all the way through college. Even now I find I am able to focus on things being said around me and relax more if I am drawing. Now that I am older, my drawing has become more intricate and detailed. I paint with watercolor and draw on top of that in pen (usually just regular ballpoint pens from walmart) for some of my work. At other times I draw and then paint afterwards. This incorporation creates a multimedia, abstract art piece.
