Twenty dollars and a pawn shop visit yielded my first guitar. From picking songs in an 18 wheeler headed cross country, to playing for change in New York City, my relationship with my guitar has opened doors, started friendships, and paid the rent.

The joy of sharing life in a musical moment is the thrust of my performance. Inviting passersby to sing their heart out at an open market, impromptu jams with local artists, the chance to record a song tens years after its creation, crying after performing one of my own songs, and finally, being compensated in different forms for sharing what comes natural is the constant thread of my life.

In late January, 2017, I recorded one of my original songs in a studio for the first time. The studio musicians approached me about forming a band, and The Joanitones came to be!
