I hope I plague your memory

I hope my face burns holes in your mind

I hope all of your demons have almond-shaped eyes and speak in deadly poems

I hope whispers of my name cut slits in your attention

and dig trenches in your thoughts

I hope every time you see a head of messy blonde hair your heart skips a beat

And I hope it falls to the pit your stomach each time it isn’t me

I hope the memory of you fades quickly in my mind

But the memory of me?

I hope it haunts you forever
